LONG ISLAND'S NEW PREMIER SOCCER PROGRAM
Pro Game United FC is proud to announce the addition of Salma Tarik as the girl’s technical director for Pro Game United FC and will serve as an advisor for its boy’s program.
Tarik, through her brand, ST10, will also be conducting an all-girls camp throughout the year and coach the 2002/03, 2004, and 2010 teams.
Before joining Pro Game, Tarik was the head women’s soccer coach for St. Joseph’s College (L.I.) for a season and led the Golden Eagles to the Skyline Conference Semifinal.
Additionally, Tarik served as the assistant men's soccer coach at Mercy College, a position she held for 2013, 2014 and 2015 seasons. At Mercy, Tarik assisted with executing training sessions, recruitment and the coordination of academic programs. In 2013, Tarik helped the Mavericks reach the East Coast Conference semifinal after posting an 11-3-4 regular-season record.
Tarik has a wide range of youth coaching experience with all ages and was a staff coach for East Meadow Soccer Club's premier club in the northeast region since 2011. Salma Tarik is currently in her second season as the ODP coach for the girl’s program.
In 2016 Tarik was selected for the United Soccer Coaches’ prestigious “30 under 30” program, which recognizes the top young coaches in the country.
A former collegiate star, Tarik began her playing career at California State University, Northridge in 2007, where she appeared in all 18 games, including 17 starts, and tallied three goals and two assists. Two of her three goals came against teams that qualified for the College Cup (UCLA, Florida State).
In 2008 Tarik transferred to Hofstra University, where she tallied 28 goals (4th all-time) in her three years and was an All-Colonial Athletic Association First-Team and NSCAA Regional All-American First-Team selection in 2009 and 2010. Additionally, Tarik was a two-time finalist for CAA Player of the Year in 2009 and 2010.
Tarik has been a member of the Egyptian National Team since 2008, and has played in multiple international matches and has played in World Cup Qualifiers as well as the African Cup of Nations Tournament. In the 2017 African Cup of Nations tournament, Salma scored the game-winning goal in the 86th minute against Zimbabwe giving the Egyptian National Team their first-ever win in this prestigious tournament.
The Cairo, Egypt native earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Hofstra University in 2012 and completed her Master's in Human Resource Management at Mercy College.
Founded in 2018 by Egyptian native and national team player Salma Tarik, ST10 is dedicated to becoming an advocate for all women soccer players. ST10 is committed to building a name for young women who desire to be the best person they can be. ST10 will bring out the passion and voice the importance of women’s soccer and empowerment. ST10 is a full 360 mentoring program focused on helping women succeed in all aspect of life and continue to communicate past college years.
